Interviews Alternative, Indie Rock Interview- Gemini Syndrome- A little Pleasure and Pain...

GSSS

There hasn’t been a band in the last few years that I have noticed that haven’t been anticipated as much as Gemini Syndrome. They are shrouded in an air of mystery regarding what is to come. The video to their latest single Pleasure And Pain gives nothing at all away either but the song is hard hitting yet a breath of fresh air highlighting their unique style. Grave Concerns got a chance to catch up with Gemini Syndrome and here is how it went.

Phill – Thank you for giving Grave Concerns Ezine this interview, can you tell our readers a little bit about yourselves?

Brian – You're very welcome. Gemini Syndrome represents our inherit duality, and the constant struggle to overcome our dark side, with our better self. Our music not only conveys this lyrically, but musically as well. Our songs pull you in all directions, with duality intertwined within itself. Some of the heaviest songs have the most uplifting lyrics; while some of the more subtle songs, have the darkest lyrics.

Phill – Aaron, you mention ‘The Enlightened’. Who are they and how do they reflect in your music?

Aaron - It's everyone. Art and music happen to be our way of trying to represent and express that.

Brian – We all have the potential for enlightenment, to be awakened. It's up to us as individuals to seek the light that lives within us all. That message is what is reflected in our music.

Phill – Religion has affected the world in a big way with things like the Crusades and the other wars that have been created due to it. But if you were to write a song about a good religious event that affected the world which event would you choose?

Aaron – Lamb of God nailed it with "Walk with Me in Hell." I would write something about sacrificing your own comfort to understand the bigger reality of suffering.

Phill – What would you say are the main influences for your music?

Brian – Love, tragedy, growth, death… The experience of life is the cornerstone of all art. Music is a powerful expression of art that transcends all social boundaries.

Phill – There is an air of mystery with you, what do you feel are the advantages and disadvantages of that mystery?

Brian – If you dig deep enough you can get to the bottom of most any mystery. Its in the seeking that we find the answers. Some people don't want to figure it out. We're not for those people. We're here to inspire people to seek.

Phill – Aaron you took lessons to help you get that scream that you have perfected and made your own. If you were to give someone advice on how to scream will then what advice would you give them?

Aaron – It's different for everyone. Lessons work for some people and not for others. The most important part is to not hurt your self. If you're in pain, you aren't doing it right."

Phill – In writing your songs, how do you get the music and lyrics right so they connect with the people who listen to them?

Brian– Our songwriting is an organic process. It just grows, musically and lyrically. There is no method. It just is. That is what we think people connect with.

Phill – When people say that you are the next great band that will hit the world’s audience how does this make you feel and what do you say to that?

Brian – It is humbling. We are honored to have the opportunity to share our music.

Phill – What has been the effect on your music with working with the great Kevin Churko for your debut album?

Brian – Kevin is an indispensable member or our team. He brought the best out of us, and our music.

Aaron- I couldn't agree more. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

Phill – There are a lot of scandals over here in the UK and Europe in the news at the moment, but what one news event recently has left you in fits of laughter?

Brian – All of them.

Phill – Your fan base is growing very fast, what one thing would you like to say to your loyal fans?

Brian – We've only just begun

Phill – Thank you very much for Giving Grave Concerns this interview, is there anything you would like to add?

Aaron – Yes, the support we have had from so many people, yourselves included, is a quite amazing thing. We are blessed to create art and be able to connect with so many different people. When people believe in what we do, we believe more.
