Premonition
Can a horrible event shown days before in a vivid and disturbing dream actually have happened; or is it the minds’ way of trying to heal from such a devastating loss? Is it a miracle, one that has shown itself in a very mystifying way, one that would bring love, hope and beauty back into ones life? And if by altering those events, would the final outcome still remain, or would it be stopped?

Sullen emotions lay heavy on the hearts and personalities of the main characters---Linda and Jim. Pivotal moments are reflected upon; those which are dusted with images from the past---the foundation for shedding light on those times that were of great happiness and hopefulness.

“Premonition” tells the story Linda (Sandra Bullock) a wife and mother whose life recently became tainted with unhappiness and growing suspicions due to the strain and thinning of her marriage. Life continues to play unfairly and with tragic results when Linda learned her husband Jim (Julian McMahon) was killed in a car crash. Distraught and confused, Linda can’t seem to rationalize why she was told of her husband’s death, the day after it happened. Upon awaking the next morning, Linda finds her husband alive, sitting in the kitchen drinking his coffee, as if nothing in the last 24hrs. had happened. Was this a nightmare Linda experienced in such vivid detail, or was it something else?

Familiar feelings and encounters, déjà vu as it would appear, plague Linda on a daily occurrence, thus making her more vulnerable, angry, depressed and distant to those around her. As Linda works to unravel the madness set upon her through piecing together why it is, she is torn between two worlds---one which has taken the life of her husband, the other which seems to never have taken him to begin with, Linda begins to see the real picture, and through her intense efforts gains strength and clarity within her marriage, but time now has run out, and reality has set in. Which world is it though that Linda now faces---the one in which love and hope has prevailed, or the one she dreamt?

What then, is the true definition of a miracle, and had Linda and her family received such a gift? That is what you will have to ask yourself after viewing “Premonition”, which will take you on a morbid journey, give you insightful and gripping character climaxes, offer many interesting twists, while leaving you with a provocative ending and likely questioning fate, second chances and spirituality.
