This is one of the 10 best albums I have heard in 2009. Xrin Arms (pronounced "Urine Arms") AKA Anthony Vincent is from San Diego, CA and is one of the most cutting edge underground artists around today. He creates a blend of high energy and spastic emotional grind, breakcore, speed, techno-punk, soul (a lot of the intro's to the songs are samples from old soul records), and DIY spirit. This guy tours the country nonstop, and has played live with everyone from Anal Cunt, White Mice, Dental Work, Yatagarasu, Realicide, and tons more. I am very proud to say that I have performed live with him and have had some great chats with him for sure. Snake Pillage Records is a label owned half by Xrin Arms and half by his best friend Evan AKA Traits. I recently played with him in Detroit, MI at his CD release show for "Olive Juice". "Olive Juice" was the first release on Snake Pillage, which is based out of Detroit, and I must say they definitely have something to be proud of here. Xrin Arms delivers 11 bursts in just over 24 minutes, and let me tell you those are some pretty fucking intense times! The album was recorded in Oakland and San Diego, CA. All of the artwork, lyrics, and music was done by Xrin Arms himself. The album starts off with "Morning Crown", an innocent melody turned into warped drum n bass grind with insane creepy childlike vocals and screams.....I LOVE THIS!!! "Heroin Fields" has a dreary guitar sample intro, and then he splices in a fit of noise and back to his signature style of speed/break/little brother screams. This stuff is genius!!! "Motel Memories" is my favorite track from the album, seeing him play this live is a must!!!!  I also really enjoy "Blackest Tea", "Unwanted Windows", and the closer "Ghost Flowers", which starts off with an old dusty piano sample that transforms into a heart-breakbeat that is sure to get your head spinning. The whole package is 100%. The art. The music. The vocals. The lyrics. The Meanings. The message. SUPPORT XRIN ARMS! SUPPORT SNAKE PILLAGE RECORDS! SUPPORT D.I.Y. MUSIC!
