As soon as you hit play on this CD you’re immediately dropped into a realm of fear and splendor. “The Tragic Beauty” will open you up to a place you never thought existed, scaling walls of wonder and pain. You know the feeling you get when you look at blood under a full moon? The blood seems to look black as you’re filled with awe, yet you had to bleed to see it. Stanislav E. Razovsky is the creative genius behind “Irokez” and other compositions for movies and cartoons. He’s been interested in creating electronic music since 1999. He has completed four albums, and two E.P.s in different styles like down tempo and acid jazz. The opening track “DDD” really sets a gloomy mood with backwards effects and low pitched samples that take you down… down… down. This track alone is worth the cost of the CD. Absolutely fantastic. Then you get to the second track, “Deux”, which has a very groovy kind of flow but still holds that dark, scary feel. The step phaser effect on this one fits very nicely with the droney drum beat and the smooth synth voices. An alarm kind of noise, perfectly composed near the end, and then a sudden finish leaves you wanting more. The next one, “Third”, gives off an ambient jazz feel, yet still has that darkness about it. You get the feeling like something bad is going to happen. Now we reach “Complaint”. The short delay on the drum sound creates a machine-like effect that is annoying and enjoyable at the same time. And with a spacey feel, you begin to picture an almost alien landscape. This track is the very definition of ambient. It delivers a dreamy environment you will find yourself lost in. Finally we get to the last track on this beautiful tragedy, “Ambe”. Guitar-like feedback and crunchy distortion set in behind a canvas of pleasant clanging percussion and a static, lo-fi sample. The dark that has kept this story together is still present as the song peaks and then fades until nothing remains but the clang and the static.
