You can fit a lot of harsh noise on to a 3 inch mini CD .Salzburg, Austria's Grim Kirby (Andreas Haslauer) is one of the leadingexperimental noise artists today. Little known by many, he has released a slew ofobscure titles under the moniker "Grim Kirby" and he also owns and operates the DIY label "Noise Park Activities".

Andreas has released his music on many labels, including Austria's "System Breakdown Recordings",  Michigan's "Placenta Recordings" and made appearances on Spain's "R.O.N.F. Records" compilations.

Well it's 2009, and this crazy Austrian is moving ahead at light speed.

After a few splits with Dental Work, One Half Magic, Akuma Daikon, and A Beautiful Lotus,  He self released his harsh opus "Dot Matrix With Jazz Sound", NPA's 18th release.

Limited to 25 copies, the album is a collage of regurgitated

Nintendo-esque sounds, screeching frequencies, strange beats, droned out drug induced madness, and a hint of Austrian charm.

The packaging is a plain white paper sleeve, with a view of the cd inside, which has rainbow colored bars along with the title in black and white. It comes with an inserted track list, and on the back of the sleeve there is a pic of some brown forks, spoons, and a knife....

The tiny disc starts off with "Glockensymphonie" a short burst of what sounds like a homeless cannibal trying to make a collect phone call while still chewing up some grub....

"Matrix", the albums third track is a nifty combo of gritty synth textures, narcotic drum programming, and some blistering attacks reminiscent of being stung by an angry family of hornets.

"Fork (Part Three)" is a weird session of distorted bleeps, about 12 seconds into it, you think your  speakers are having a short circuit spasm, but that’s just Grim Kirby's way of a good joke!

All in all, the album reminds me of a bad LSD trip, but in a good way! Pick this rare CD up while it's still out there! 10/10!
