The intense synthetic sounds of destruction is best to describe this electro-noise project known as The Savior. Created by Adam Jones, the mastermind behind this unique experimental act. All that was heard on this cd was done by him. Much of his work has been released through independent mediums and I was finally able to get my hands on his recent album. Defection Droid is the latest offering. Its very much difficult to put a label on this disc. Call it experimental, noise, IDM, harsh industrial, whatever you want to call it, its something that sounds like it wasn't created by human means, but more likely constructed by machines. There are 15 tracks on Defection Droid. From beginning to end its pulled my ear from a hard pounding beats to hyper aggressive programming. The tracks that stood out the most was "ironman1," with is almost tribal rhythms and "particles," a very melodic song that features vocals by Mr. Jones. Often at times, some tracks tend to get a bit redundant, and often times not sure wheter or not the same song is still playing. Despite that, the direction of the album flows well. I was much impressed with Defection Droid. This was one experimental electronic album that I enjoyed. It shall be interesting to see what The Savior will have to offer next on his next release.
