I always enjoy checking out something new and different then what I am accustomed to and this time its Last Satanic Divine from Essen, Germany. Consisting of Daniel Pressert – Vocals/Guitar, Marcus Dieckmann – Guitar, and Justin Möll on Drums.

Starting off this album and evoking such images from the get go of tides parting a barren sea, and raising up to unleash a fire storm down upon the land...I would say that feeling soon diminished for me but hey, one can dream right?!

Anyways, we start off the album with the track Pray that is a very heavy, well produced track of hard industrial influenced rock/metal. This track takes me no time to come to a conclusion that there is a big Ramstein influence ready to set forth. This is a very straight forward track with a melodic nature and not a whole lot of bells and whistles as far as progression stands with the same riff over and over again. I felt the same venturing through the second track, Seelenschrei. It is just very redundant for me.

But before I can jump to a conclusion based on the first couple tracks this album it really took a turn for the better with such songs as Vobiscum Satanas which really regained my intention with the beginning synth lead that intertwines actually quite well amongst the heavy driven tone of guitar work and acoustic drums although my attention span for this track shortly dropped off at about the one minute and thirty second mark as the same repertoire begins from the first verse. The repetitive structure amongst the tracks thus far comes across as an almost “copy and paste” situation of verse to chorus and back again. As almost being chained down from exploring more depth, and structure.

 The piano work starting off the next track of Forever infolded into a cinematic structure and light piano work really raised my attention, adding a light over tone of female vocals this track instantly became one of my favorites thus far. Still a bit repetitious but nonetheless a great track as a whole.

 With Beat of Sin im really starting to notice an amazing turn around with how I thought things would end up for this album...more intense, intricate, and well composed. Adding in elements to the song structure along the way id say this is another great piece of work that Last Satanic Divine has conveyed into this album.

As the over laying pad breathes life into the synth lead that shortly wraps itself together amongst the over driven guitar work and drums fixating itself into place before Daniel Pressert's gruff vocal style takes place driving this verse into an amazing work of art that can only be conveyed as such pure talent displayed by Last Satanic Divine in both lyrical work entitled Walking Towards Victory. this is quite an amazing track that gave me much hope for the future from this project. But before I end this review let me talk about the last track, Vaterliebe. After listening to this last track multiple times I can only wish that they would have properly mastered this track and not released it as a “demo” track. Such an amazing piece of work that really shines more talent from Last Satanic Divine amidst the sunset.

As a whole, there is much repetition along the way of The Rising, but also much hope for the future from this band that has really shined on some amazing tracks and If this band can push paste some of the redundant song structures and truly dive into there creative mind then I can only anticipate Last Satanic Divine's next album with much awaited eagerness.
