Today is the day when one of the great bands on the alternative music scene release to you all their latest. So what is on Hello My Name Is by Angelspit read on and thou shall find out.

Cubicle – You are met by the full on vocals of Destroyx shortly followed anger harmonics of Zoog. The two meet with some grinding beats and a marriage of apocalyptical words. There are some amazing additions to the Angelspit sound namely the excellent guitar riffs. “Cubicle” is angry in all ways but a perfect start to Hello My Name Is.

Counterfeit – This is my personal favorite of the whole album. This is a DJ’s floor filler. The lyrics and beats are catchy and I’m sure people will agree with me that “Counterfeit” will become a hit within the alternative scene. The guitars sit perfectly with the industrial beats and the vocals are the perfect musical accompaniment. “Counterfeit” is an absolutely amazing track.

Vermin – “Vermin” has a more industrial/technical start with the beats continuing throughout the whole track. Destroyx’s vocals on this are like a hardcore cyber nursery rhyme. The whole track gives you a wanting to move your body.

Catatonic - From the start this track screams power. It is aggressive but yet there is harmony within the aggression. In this track Zoog really shows his stunning vocal range with some beautiful harmonics on this track. It has the classic Angelspit sound accompanied with radical new ideas that fit perfect together.“Catatonic” has the air of a classic industrial track from the late 80s dragged kicking and screaming into the modern day.

Monkey Byte – On “Monkey Byte” I feel Angelspit introduce a new edge to their music with a complete metal edge and to be honest it works perfectly. I am hearing a lot of new ideas from Angelspit on this album and I like them all. Metal sits perfectly with their already hardcore industrial edge. This produces a true masterstroke of genius on Angelspits behalf. “Monkey Byte”, is yet another stunning track on an already decent album.

Defibrillator – This has a very J-Pop blended with industrial feel. It’s kind of hard to sum up this track other than to say it is very pretty with a dirty feel. You have the J-Pop sound to the music and vocals with some very beefy guitars.

Bullet Proof – I really like “Bullet Proof”, the way that the guitars are blended in to the music and beat is a true stroke of genius and I really like it. Zoog’s vocals are at their best for the track and so are Destroyx’s. From what is in the track, it had the potential to be a complete mish mash of sounds but Angelspit have managed to marry everything together perfectly and very well.

Static – This is a very dark industrial track that makes it stand out from the rest of the album because of its angelic demonic sound. The words in the song especially ‘You will know us by our trail of static’ fit perfectly.

Jailbait – “Jailbait” is a great industrial sound with an amazing chugging beat. It has harmony on many parts with full in your face beats and vocals. There are times when Destroyx provides some very haunting vocals which are quite a spooky addition but it works very well indeed.

Deadly – The one and only industrial instrumental of the album. It manages to combine all that Angelspit have become just musically. It would have been nice to hear Destroyx’s or Zoog vocals on this track but I must admit it works well without their accompaniment.

Violence – The album ends on somewhat of a softer note to the other tracks with “Violence”, this is not a bad thing in anyway. Just because this track is lighter than the others it doesn’t mean it doesn’t retain the Angelspit sound or ferocity. “Violence” has it all, it’s haunting musically and vocally yet it keeps them heavy guitars we have grown to like.

All in all I really like Hello My Name Is, I think Angelspit have brought a few new elements into their music which they have managed to combine effectively into the Angelspit sound. I really like this album. 8/10
