A strident scream of “WE'RE HERE TO DOMINATE” and a punishing beat – yep, Claus Larsen is back with his project Klutae. This is “Electro Punks Unite”, and the apocalyptic call to arms mentioned is from the title track, which just so happens to be the first one on the album.

Just from the first few seconds of the album, you know that you're going to be punched in the face repeatedly by Larsen's trademark Industrial. This is a man who has been striding the Industrial scene like a Teutonic hero from some Epic for many a year now. He is quite literally a legend in the scene, and he just never seems to let up in the sheer quality of his output.

So what is the album like? Well, it can be summed up in three words – A fuming behemoth. Larsen has never been a stranger to speaking from his heart and constructing music that is pure catharsis realised in sonic form. This is a person who, without his music, much like Jaz Coleman of Killing Joke, would probably have either ended up insane or dead. This is music done for the purest of reasons – music itself. Which is probably why it grabs you immediately, and why fans of his are so loyal.

He is a man who has perfected his craft over many years, and it shows. Take for example the aforementioned “Electro Punks Unite”, which grabs you by the throat and screams until your face is covered in so much bile you could shave with it. Then there's “We are Nothing (But nothing lasts forever)” which follows up by slamming you into a wall of pure cyberpunk fury. Not to give too much away, but “I know its sick but it's so much fun” contains what sounds like a sample from a 70s artist who spectacularly fell from grace (thereby creating one of the most uncomfortable, surprising and blackly humorous moments I have ever heard on an album). Then there's the computer-game kitsch of “World You Would Be Proud Of”, which married with the politicised lyrics lampoons the current state of this world perfectly. There are so many gems and surprises on this album, that to go on about them would be to do them injustice, and, well, practically if I were, then I would just look like I was rambling and just writing hyperbole. Check the album out for yourself if you want to see what I mean. The album also comes with some very nice remixes that are definitely worth checking out.
