The new Die Krupps album,“Als Wären Wir Für Immer” makes me want to dream of a concert where I stand in the dark and just listen. The title song is mysterious and cool. It is the only track sung in German. On the album you will find plenty of aggressive vocals that are intense and emphatic. The the music meshing in background with heavy beats creates the Die Krupps style we know to love. This album will beat the shit out of any club night. The song, “Chameleon Man” curls my toes with its music and the lyrics are really thrilling my mind. I like how he makes you want to be inside your head to feel your feelings and still he is the chameleon man. The lyrics make me think of “Liar” from Henry Rollins which are still so seductive. The vigilante remix of it makes me nervous. It is too blippy to get in harmony as the original. The absolute best song of this album is “Dr Mabuse,” the Propaganda cover that Die Krupps made a total own version of at stage and now finally puts on album. The remix made by “Memphis,” is also very awesome. It is very suggestive the synths work their magic in the vein of Sisters of Mercy. The electronic beats are spooky more than ever. The first track,“Beyond, ”makes me feel like music at a couples dance party but with more bite then the remix by Unheilig that is kind of melodic in soft way. It makes me think upon Rotersand's “Wasted” then it goes into some pop and then turns into some rap and then gets you back to Die Krupps feeling again. Here is this lady choral that changes the thing completely too. “Die Macht ” is starting off in a cool synth blip way and then takes off in a way that makes me understand why Rammstein fans see Die Krupps as their foreganger. I love the drum beat in this song and the way it casts me into dance and makes me want to synth bang my head. I really miss my black long leather coat and the Doc Martins when hear this song. “Herrn Jürgen Engler” was the one who brought punk into the scene of Germany in the 70's (with Male), then with Die Krupps in the 80's lay the ground for Kraftwerk (and Rammstein). There hasn’t been a Die Krupps album since 1997 with new songs. The waiting was worth definitely worth it. This album is conquering the new scene of EBM.
