Artist: Treibhaus
Album: Feindbild
Category: Metal/Electro/Gothic
Stars: 4.5
Feindbild, the second album from Electro-metal powerhouse Treibhaus, combines elements of heavy Techno-Industrial beats with raging guitar work and stunning vocals to create a genre all its own. Some of the tracks are solidly Industrial, such as Besser, Hass, and Radikal, tracks two, four, and seven, respectively. Still others are almost entirely based off of the instrumental work, as is the case with tracks six and eight, respectively titled Maschinen and Retter. Most, though, are a perfect blend of both the genres, to make for a very powerful, moving experience.
The intro track, Kodek, opens with Suicide Commando-esque syththesized beats to get your blood pumping, thereupon unleashing a raging guitar piece that's sure to get you moving. The bottom line- whether you're a Rivithead or a Metalhead, Feindbild won't disappoint, and is sure to quell the argument of which is superior. The answer? Treibhaus is superior, and Feindbild is a must-hear for hardcore fans and new listeners alike. So Industrial and Metal fans alike, get this album, and maybe then we can all just get along.
