In the first 25 seconds this EP sets the mood, style and attitude. One can hear the varying influence of music styles that has let these ladies perform in the Punk and Goth worlds of music. The first track, “Zombie Rock N Roll,” is an upbeat tune that swims in a Psychobilly sound while still keeping its Punk style. The title track, “Baseball Bat,” is the Punk peak of this EP with its anger and speed. When these girls yell “Bash your head with a baseball bat” you know they mean it. Nikki Hearse’s voice comes out like she’s angry at someone and she’s letting them how she feels. The song “2 Fingers” starts out with everyone yelling “hey, hey!” in a true punk fashion, and still sexy female tone. One can hear why these ladies conjure up comparison to acts like The Distillers and The Horrorpops.

This is a great EP for its music content and professional recording production, especially for a band who has yet to be signed, but is willing to be. The look of the band and their music makes them a great choice for anyone planning on having a “Return of the Living Dead” themed party. These ladies would fit in perfectly… either as punk victims or punk zombies.

Since forming back in 2005 they have had continuous growth and have taken part in many UK Festivals. This year they will be in the Whitby Gothic Weekend playing alongside legends like The Damned and Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. Makes me wish I could buy a ticket and fly myself out to the UK and experience this music live.

Plus you have to love a band whose MySpace page Sounds Like section reads: the dirtiest moans you will ever make while fucking.”
