Grave Disorder

Hot of the press on 8/21/01 is the new CD by the legendary band The Damned. Grave Disorder is here, and sure it great to have new material. "Demacracy" explodes into full assult. The song has sort of a gothabilly feel, combining both punk and dark roots. It has a upbeat swing , and standout vocals that have an urgent feel. "Song.com" has a strong punk feel with a tint of dark guitar and more dark sound vocals then the first track. It definitely is a pick me up song with the punk flavor. This CD brings out the true punk rock roots, not like we see today with so many new punk bands. "Thrill Kill, has more of a dark egde, and thicker dark vocals to give things a new feel to the CD. The guitar is strong, and hooks you in this song. "She" brings us more into the punk and goth mode combined, and has a more Door's feel within the vocals at times and surf rock musically feel. "Lookin for Action, is a high energy song with more punk roots, and fast driven guitar and drumming." There is definitely a good mix of punk and gothic, over the pop. "Amen", Absinthe" are stand out tracks, especially "Amen" I really like the vocals a little more deeper. This was a well done song and already has been this CD more complete. Amen is a fairly long song, and the song takes a turn in the middle of the song, it is almost like two songs in one. There is like a calm after the storm thing built into the song. It has more somber feel, and some programming in the beginning that brings you back in time. I like the chilling organ, and the ocean samples. This is the most gothic sounding song on the whole CD, and I might of heard some Cure influence in the guitar. "The End of Time" almost has a more somber feel, and some addtional programming. It was great to have some more quiet songs built in around some of the more punk and upbeat songs. "Obscene" was another stand out track, more of the gothic tones. The CD was surprising, and has brought us another jammed pack sensational album.
