Gemini Syndrome have been a bit of a secretive band in the release of their new album Lux. Grave Concerns Ezine got a hold of Lux so what do we think, well read on and you shall see.

This album from the inception proves the musical mastery of this great metal band, you can pick out elements of the likes of Disturbed, Tool and Slipknot which seem to be obvious influences to Gemini Syndrome.

In many of the tracks there is an air of both brutality and tranquillity mixed together in perfect synchronicity. Every song seems to flow Gemini Syndrome. There are a few belters in this album namely "Pleasure And Pain" & "Resurrection", both have amazing guitar work but "Resurrection" has some deviously dark undertones to it.

All of the tracks on this album carry amazing vocal work and this can be heard full hog on "Take This"," Babylon" and "Mourning Star". Aaron Nordstrom is nothing less than a potential legend with his vocal work in general but on these three tracks he really shines out. You can feel and hear the emotional quality in the music but definitely in Aaron’s vocals.

I must admit though there is one track on Lux which stands head and shoulders above all others and can be only described as a musical work of art and that is Stardust. It is smooth flowing and easy on the ear yet it has hints of a shade of brutality, every little part of this track is perfect and cannot be matched or done by any other band bar Gemini Syndrome.

There are a few tracks that will get your head swaying like "Falling Apart" right through to the head splitting brutality of tracks like "Pay for This" which is a track that will leave you bludgeoned to death.

Two tracks on Lux provide a very distinct sound to the music of Gemini Syndrome, these have to be "Basement" and "Left Of Me". "Left Of Me" is one of those that can only be defined as Gemini Syndrome, the way that the distinctive vocals and guitars mix seamlessly is supreme.

Two songs left to tell you about, that is "Syndrome" and "Lux". Well "Lux" is a good way to end the album, like a kind of little recap over the album. And Syndrome is a track that your emotions this song give you relate to the theme of the song.

Lux is an album that will take pride of place in any metal heads CD collection and money well spent in my book. It has all the elements of a decent metal masterpiece which is what Lux is. Well done Gemini Syndrome.
