Reviews CD Reviews Gothic Marilyn Manson- Eat Me, Drink Me

 Artist: Marilyn Manson

 Title: Eat me, Drink Me

 Label: Interscope

 Date: 6-3-07

Eat Me, Drink Me, the new album by Marilyn Manson, is a return to his gothic and hellish roots. Consisting of 11-tracks, Eat Me, Drink Me, is a prolific combination of daring, insightful, and dark lyrics; infectiously heavy and spot-on killer vocals; and a powerhouse of phenomenal music. Manson fans, rejoice!

You can drench me in holy water, shackle me in crosses, and douse me in 6:00 AM sunlight, but it still won’t keep me from lusting after, and putting on continuous play, one of Manson’s most sumptuous songs to date---If I Was Your Vampire. And for the record, even if this song weren’t about a vampire, it still would be a badass song! Its just that having it be referenced to a vampire, made the song all that more succulent and provocative to succumb my dark fantasies toward.

Manson does some of his best work on Just a Car Crash Away. It’s a gorgeous sounding song, with Manson taking on a more lucid, and emotional moment in his storytelling.

Coming in as my first pick with its dangerously cryptic and chant-like lyrics, riveting guitar riffs, and chillingly sinister vocals is, You Me and the Devil Makes 3.

Marilyn Manson’s new album Eat Me, Drink Me will be available on Tuesday, June 5th. It’s a brilliant album, shocking at times, sexy, and rich in Manson oddities…I think, his finest work to date!
