I was fortunate enough to receive this CD from Ms Rainbow Blight in the mail. She deserves my thanks, as I put on track 1- Porcelain and it's got some nice biting guitar riffs and a great drum beat to compliment her voice ..all in all this song reminds me of bands like My Ruin and Jack Off Jill, which is a good thing as I like that all. Track 2 is called Malevolent Symphony and you get to hear more of synth/keyboards in this song- really nice, well done- great melody line. More industrial sounding than the last song. This band shows a lot of potential. This song has a nice crescendo..varying tempos..this shows some really well thought out song-writing. Track 3 is called PaperCut Kisses...and the best I can describe it is ...kinda frantic. Fast paced. This song reminds me of Switchblade Symphony in some ways during one of the breaks. Track 4 is called Bloody Ballerina. This far into the cd you kinda get a feel of the Hate In The Box sound...the texture of the guitar sound, the tone of the synth/keyboards. Track 5 is called Cannibal's Love Song. This song reminds me of Marilyn Manson live. Track 6 Little Matchgirl is a pretty straightforward song, lotsa guitar. Track 7 Broken Stitches ReOpened starts out reminiscent of Type O Negative. I guess this is their "slow" song. Track 8 Candy Coated Razorblade starts out sounding like The Thrill Kill Kult...fast beat, good build up, nice synth-line. This CD is not their most recent - I just noticed on the band's website that they have something new on the way..so it'll be interesting to hear how the band develops.
