Listen to an Audio Sample of "Heaven of Heavens" from The House of Usher
[“Definitely one of the greatest bands ever & now armed w/ a live drummer, THOU bring forth this new cd that features thirteen stunning new songs where their style is pretty much in the same vein as past efforts w/ a definite sign of progression in musical structure & chorus since previous albums, yet wisely eschewing current musical trends & combining a subtle & beneficial update to their romantically seductive gothic rock from metaphorical musings to dramatic haunting laments of the cosmos. One reason seems to point toward the members´ varied musical influences but also perhaps feelings they might have gained while spending a week over in the romantic landscape of Bretagne, France back in the summer of 2000. This is by far one of the greatest bands in the Gothic scene & if you consider yourself a Goth then do yourself a favor & pick this record up! Some great stand out’s include, “One of a Million”, “A Summer’s End”, “Against All & Everything”, “Heaven of Heavens”, “W/ the Heat of a Sun”, “Once in a Blue Moon”, “The Day the World Stopped Breathing”, & “As I Shall Thee Enlighten”. This cd also includes a German spoken word piece titled “Die Hoelle-Hörspiel! (The Hell)” recited by Christian von Aster & Boris Koch; strongly recommended!”]www.equinoxe- records.com
