Dawn Wagner is Scarlet Slipping; her voluminous tones, her haunting voice---brings echoes of sultry mysteriousness sauntering through each song---visions of oddities that completely drew me into her world, her album, “Hound”---affectingly so. Feeling lost has never felt so comfortable.

I always find certain songs on albums to spotlight---even if it’s just for my own enjoyment; but because of that, I do feel like it’s something to mention to the artist(s) who’ve created them, and for the listeners to be able to have an opportunity to perhaps relate to, or come close to the reasoning(s) why a song or songs mean so much to me, because of the artist(s) creations and perhaps, open up other listeners feelings through a song or songs mentioned. It’s flattering to the artist(s) and it’s a way to help showcase a particular song or songs from the their album---perhaps even, one or two that really should be noticed, but hasn’t had the chance to see it shine.

“Light Invades”, “Hound” (such a phenomenal song; many emotions floating throughout its beauty and sadness.) “Firefly”, “Sleeping Ghosts” (one of the BEST…if not THE BEST on the album…love the mood of this piece…the visual energy, the lyrics are poetic sumptuousness, and the gripping intensity from this song is so AMAZING…I LOVE it!) And “House of Stone”---in no real order of which is tops...except where mentioned above.

Scarlet Slipping’s album “Hound” exudes the kinds of music to fall under the intoxicating spell of---to gain entry into other words of imaginative places, atmospheric surroundings, dark and magically unexplainably feelings. True beauty.

“Hound” will beguile; I know first hand---it’s happened to me.
