Tears- CD Single

Dancing Ferret Records

Review by Julie Johnson 4/02

When I got this CD single of "Tears" and first starting listening I totally went nuts. I love this single!! This is a high- energy track, with excellent guitar work and programming. The vocals are amazing, and the track is very melodic. I love the sonic fusion of the guitars, the deep bass. There is so much too this track. It is very catchy, and has a great blend of gothic and industrial elements. The first version of the "Tears" is the original, and it is very powerful!. "Tears" (Apoptyma Berzerk) remix is off the hook. Great sample in the beginning, and great club beats that follows. You can definitely hear the influence of Apoptyma Berserk in this track. The distortion and the sonic fusion is taken out and replaced with more of the club friendly beats. The vocals are more calm, but still totally amazing. Definitely one of the highlights of this CD, but there is still more to come that is totally awesome. I would have to say "Tears" (Fictional) remix is the best of this CD single. I love the beats and programming right from the beginning on this track. The vocals with the robotic tint works really well. This song is very addicting. So many amazing layers in this song. I like the fast thick club beats, above the dark synths that are circling around. I love the break in the song around 4min 30 seconds, where the beats just take over. This is one of the best songs I have heard for dancing. I like how the song ends with more of an ethereal feel and nature feel. "Tears" the Robbie Tronco/Knobhead Mix) is a powerful mix. I like how it starts off with the violin, and then the programming starts with the synths and drums. I like how the violin is then mixed in. After the beginning beats, I like how it changes like a flick of a switch, and it became faster, harder and more sounds are added. This is definitely another standout track. I like how after the vocals the music takes over, this is a great pattern and style, and when the vocals are going on the music is back to the different tempo. All I can say is that "Tears" and the re-mixes are some of the most amazing re-mixes. I love this single!!
