I was fortunate enough to land me a copy of the band new Dorothy Does Drugs CD. For those of you unfamiliar with the band- think Hole minus Courtney Love's douche-baggery, mixed with The Cure minus Robert Smith's accent, and then add a dash of the Ramones reality and raw power. WoW you say? Ya its WoW - in a major way- this band has the potential to be the next big thing and I recommend getting in on the ground floor right now!

The first song on the cd is Release The Spirit and it packs plenty of punch with a guitar lick that I can easily see many young aspiring guitarists trying to tab out for some time to come. This song is a great choice to start off the cd because its fast paced and the drums and bass are infectious, it makes you want to see this band live...like ...tonight.

The second song on this cd is one that I hear will be featured in the band's first music video. The lyrics tell a tale of love (sex?) between a girl and a monster... and its just sang so perfectly by Rockelle Cakes that I can imagine (naughty me) what the video may feature..and look forward to seeing it ASAP! The musicianship in this song is on the mark, pro stuff and I for one am glad to have this awesome cd in my hands.

The third song on this cd is UnderAchiever, it sounds to me like a song from the heart, where even though times are tough anyone can pull through their darkest hardest times in life itself. It has alot of serious words that alot of people can connect with in the way it is sung and played by the band. I can't wait for the industrial remix of this song, as I truely believe it would totally match the potential of the awesome songs from Stabbing Westward.

You can pick up this cd online at www.dorothydoesdrugs.com/merchandise.htm or through their labels website at www.killingjarrecords.com which I would recommend anyone to do as soon as possible as the cds are going fast. Dorothy Does Drugs majorly RULE in my book!!
