I am so happy for M@ The C@! aka Matt Morden, aka Bubblegum Octopus aka Fork Sister, aka First Aid Squid, C@, Black Clocks, and the list goes on. Yeah this kid has all kinds of projects out there, but this is his first "official" CD release, and it is (insert British accent) motherfucking superb! Anyway, I first heard BGO through my pals Scissor Shock. I think I downloaded some of the old stuff, and it was pretty interesting. I checked out all of his projects and I am especially fond of C@ and Bubblegum Octopus. I ended up having him do a few songs for "The Placenta Compilation Vol. 3" that I released as a free download last year. As the year past and we shared our interest in cats and noise, he contacted me with great news of his new full length album, as well as a BGO & Yatagarasu split, and his first tour. I set up a CD release show for him, Yatagarasu, and myself and like usual, I got this album as a trade! This is how I would describe Bubblegum Octopus: 8-Bit/16-Bit Electronica, Spazz Pop, Cyber Grind, Digital Death Metal, Experimental, all with a vocal range of extremely high and poppy to the cannibal corpse cookie monster vocals. This stuff is catchier than herpes, I believe. 25 amazing tracks with professional mastering and high quality artwork inside a plush digipak. I am really digging the illustrations too, especially the cat smoking and the cat with a machine gun. Roxie Vizcarra did the art. My absolute favorites on this album are "God's Pink Laser", I think this might have underground radio potential, "Spiders On My Toes", a cut and paste ghettotech obliteration, "Story Of The 8-Bit Compy" which totally sounds like a MIDI hand job or an NES brain massage. "Eating The Not-So-Yummy Pie Of Sadness" is like a journey through a Ghost House in Super Mario World. I also really enjoy "Cat Machine", "Meow Flute", and "No Advice" the last track is a total techno MDMA Ecstasy high caught on CD....I swear this is what I felt like every weekend when I was 15-6 :)

This is in my list of top albums of 2009...Get it!
