The music of Revideolized is progressive, experimental, and electronic, but with a different approach that owes less to the psychedelic synthesizer compositions of the Legendary Pink Dots or Christus and The Cosmonaughts than to the original experimental rock pioneers of the '70s, with just a hint of synthpop thrown in for flavor. "Too Deep for Dreams" and "The Deja-Vu Mirror" in particular are rather like some crazy team-up between Pink Floyd and New Order, with dreamlike guitar solos playing in and out of moody electronic beats and ambient analog synths. "Lost in Obscurity" is deeper in scope, starting off with didgeridoos and ringing dark synth textures in the vein of Robert Rich, then giving way to deep pianos and down-tempo grooves, and "Phenomenon" is reminiscent of a less tribal Delerium. "Sounds from Out There" and "Not So Fast" are old-school space trips, with science fiction synths and deep piano chords, while "Ghost Voices" is appropriately eerie, with an otherworldly keyboard line that recalls the theme music from "The X-Files." Revideolized has occasionally been categorized as New Age music, so some of this might be a bit on the soft side for some, but the New Age elements that are present hearken back to the psychedelic futurism of the genre's early composers, like Vangelis and Tangerine Dream, rather than the saccharine silliness of artists like Yanni. Although the guitar solos alone are enough to turn off electronic purists, fans of progressive rock as well as melodic downtempo ought to enjoy this one.
