A promising 4-track single from German act Stereomotion, this CD starts with "Torment," a fairly typical but well executed example of the current terror EBM sound, all pounding beats and gravelly vocals. B-side "Holy Stigmata" is more of the same, albeit with some synthesized string pads thrown in for atmosphere, but things really start to get interesting with the remixes. The "Extended Force Field Mix" of "Torment" cuts out the beats entirely, leaving a sort of hellish dark ambiance, while Access_Denied's "beCode76" remix of the same song throws in everything from funky breaks to brand new vocals, creating what is in effect almost an entirely different song. Stereomotion haven't done anything that hasn't already been done, but there are some interesting interpretations here, and at the very least it should play well on the dance floor.
