As the sun begins to fade and the darkness of clouds surrounds the city there seems to be something lurking between the smoke filled sky and the cracks of cement. Underneath a piercing overtone is the first track Erase from this amazing future-pop/synthpop act Zero-E. Q. One can only develop images of the darkness that is reality and the tranquility of the sound unremitting above our town engulfing us with a mood of hope, yet falling short to reach the silver lining. Crossing through this town amongst the night sky we find ourselves letting go and fulfilling our greed in the next track, Never Let You In, which still leaves us in the same mood that dawned on us from the beginning of the album and carrying through to yet another blissful end to an amazing track and opening another skeleton in the closet with the next wonderful piece of work entitled, Fall. The discouragement and triumph carries through this wonderful piece flawlessly as we hit Zero E. Q’s next track Negative Changes. As if an echo from the voice calls us near to pay attention to the calling of this bands newest EP, to leave a mark on all those who consider diving into this wonderful piece of artwork. The chorus begins ringing deep and dark down inside of me unwillingly to unfold and repeat. The next track we have Inside My Head which strays away from your typical futurepop/synthpop track adding live instruments to the sound. We have something that is almost a cross between rock/synth/and a jazzy bass-line. I can’t say this is bad in any way as Zero-E. Q has already seemed to stray a bit from the normal path and doing things their own way. The band has succeeded in every step with their darkness and their dreary path that unfolds. I was not impressed with the first couple remixes that came in and out of the dark and dreary world that this E.P has unfolded us into, until we have reached Enemy (Klonavenus mix). This remix fits just fine within this E.P. As if not wanting to go home from the world we have stepped into, one can only wait for the next surprise in store from Zero-E. Q in the future.

To sum things up in the genre of synthpop and futurepop, this is an amazing stand out E.P that is in a niche all in its own with a very Gothic/spooky overtone that crushes through the happiness that over rides the melodic and forceful nature of darkness that lies beneath this release.
