Artist: Neuro Sentence
CD title: The Shores of Anhedonia
Label: Xperiment XIII Records
Released: February 14th, 2014
Genre: Necro Electro/Industrial/Goth/Bloodwave
From: Colorado Springs, Co
Biography:
Neuro-Sentence was formed in 2009, out of a chance encounter between Count W and Elipsis, who soon realized they shared the same perverted musical fetishes and decided to connect their abilities.
This led to the writing and recording of the “Victims & Virtues” E.P. in 2009. This release was given no promotion and received no response from the undead until 2011. A local Colorado DJ began spinning “Dominion” in clubs and soon Neuro-Sentence developed a small cult following which led to shows both in their hometown of Colorado Springs, Co, and infamous Gothic crossroad city, Denver, Co.
Soon after these live performances, Neuro-Sentence stepped into Cuntington Studios again to finish their full-length L.P. “The Shores of Anhedonia,” which was completed in June, 2013. Concurrently, Australian Label / Distributor, Xperiment XIII approached Neuro-Sentence about working together to promote and distribute their music World-Wide.
Neuro-Sentence is continuing to push the boundaries of Goth and Necro-electro while infusing their music with a haunting and sinister atmosphere.
“Breathing passionate surly imagination it’s just phenomenal. There are plenty of subtleties as well as neck breaking moments, so a never ending journey into a maelstrom of deviance can be experienced when listening to this album.”
Album Review:
Bring it on!!! This more than wets the appetite with punishing rhythms and haunting melodies, from the rabid and compelling introduction that is “Dominion” having a deep crushing effect on the brain cells that once experienced you may just forget to breathe. The eerily splendid “Inferno” wields a sharp keyboard in the face and then takes off like a wild horse galloping into oblivion. Total head rush! “The Edict” keeps you gripped by its strong lures and highly intense sonic keyboard notes – impossible for the body to remain static to this. “Chemical” is muscular and strong and literally stalks its prey with a rabid surging of deathly rhythms. “Anhedonia” is another strong brooding gothic memento that grapples with the aural as its soaring melodies unveil their haunting stance. “Archetypes & Avatars” marches proudly to a regimented beat with its infectious grooves and haunting tempestuous keyboards. “Kali” the opening sample on this is bound to bring a smile to your face, and afterwards it bristles with a certain nonchalance of its superior charm, whilst still maintaining a smile on the face of its listener. The body of this track just stomps fiercely over the aural. “Samsara” starts with a very shrill and haunting melody and thick rugged rhythms that constantly thrill adding in a deep heavy vocal is mesmerising to say the least. “Morning Star” gives the imagination something unusual to focus on whilst battering it to death. This is a bone shaker! “Divine” unleashes some hauntingly gripping rhythms on the final track of this bristling composition, visiting Gothic over tones and housing vocal hostilities.
To Sum up:
One strong contender for its genre its blood thirsty crusade continues through-out and never loosens its grip for a second. Intense and formidable it really rates highly as being a band to watch out for.
Breathing passionate surly imagination it’s just phenomenal. There are plenty of subtleties as well as neck breaking moments, so a never ending journey into a maelstrom of deviance can be experienced when listening to this album.
