Mercy is for the Weak…

It’s been 7 years (!) since the last CD by V2A was released to the masses, yet one can only wonder what they could have made in all that time, after hearing this gem of a release. If there had been any way to go back through that massive time void and have it filled though with the music that one finds thrust upon them within this release, we would have all be very lucky indeed.

After the short leading-in track of  “DK”,   “Stahl Tanz” kicks  right in and, from there on in, it’s take no prisoners.  Cyber Goths and Rivet heads all over will find this CD one that will be in constant play in their machines for months to come, and DJ’s will have their pick of tracks to use at anytime to  keep a dance floor constantly packed and moving.  The rhythms throughout are aggressive, but always danceable.  The lyrics never tend to be silly or sound forced.  Even “Contagen” which they repeat (not sample) lines from “Full Metal Jacket” never wavers from the overall mission from this group, which seems to have been a take-no-prisoners, keep them dancing as long as possible mentality.

In summary, I would highly suggest this CD, not just for new releases for 2009, but in general.  If you’re a DJ or someone who just loves IDM, this is one that will have you constantly doing the “head-nod” without you probably even realizing your doing it. This is one release which I was blown away by, and I haven’t heard a disc in quite a while where there wasn’t at least 2-3 songs you could have done without, especially in the Industrial music genre. I would highly recommend it to fans of Skinny Puppy and VNV Nation.  Don’t hesitate to pick this one up, you will NOT be disappointed.

Suggested Tracks:  Mercy is for the Weak (my favorite track), Body Hammer, Judda., Body Machine… Just to start.
