Another strong showing from VNV Nation with Genesis.2. Genesis is a track from the upcoming album "FuturePerfect". I liked the somber intro with the Apollo 8 sample. After the sample the song kicked with many frequency sounds and more beats with the sample still in the background until the vocals kicked it. The vocals flow nicely as the music builds up with the traditional VNV sounds. The music peaks during the main vocal melody and chorus. The transition from vocals to the music is great, and a time in the song to really escape into the music and dance. The samples with "Let there be Light" still ring out in-between the main vocals. Again the vocals peak with the music and bring you up and back down a few times within the song. "Genesis c92.version by VNV Nation", kicks it up another notch and the programming has become faster and has intensified. Definitely is a good song for hard dancing. I could see this remix in clubs all over. It takes you, and lifts you up. The vocals seem a little more aggressive, but still remain very melodic. "Left Behind" is the unreleased track. The vocals seem a little more stripped and right there. The song starts off with a spoken like vocal pattern. This song definitely takes you down from the first 2 tracks that are very much upbeat. The lyrics are more depressing, but have personal touch. The music is somber and have a spiritual ambience. Genesis (Ivory Frequency version) had a different sound and approach from the other remixes. There was less sample in the beginning. The vocals had a echo like sound to them. The song still has a strong dance beat, but I liked the first 2 remixes for dancing better. VNV Nation again has proven that they will dominate the dance clubs with this new single.
