So the press sheet reads "What would it sound like if Depeche Mode and Erasure did an EBM project?". Well, let's see.......Apoptygma Berserk,And One,Covenant,VNV Nation, and a million other bands out there? It's not that this is a bad album, it's just that it's been done quite alot over the years, with the usual synth-with-a-big-beat formula done yet again. The vocals sound dead on like Dave Gahan, but not with as much of the drive and charisma that's made Dave Gahan such a legend of simplicity, and without the ability to hit those upper notes with that same monotone inflection. It's like the vocals are kind of stuck on a perpetual B-note. But, if this were the first time this kind of music were done, it'd be alot better. But in the orginality department it severely suffers, plus I'm not really seeing anything really related to Erasure at all. It seems more like all Depeche Mode influence with some Future Pop elements; like Melotron without half the mood or inventive sequencing. Overall, good but far from legendary.
