Artist: BonBomb CD Title: 5 track cd sampler Label: self released Reviewer: Marcos Date: 9-03 |
“Their sort of a mix of punk rock w/ emo & some more new wave influences running amuck w/ rich, vibrant guitars that bring to mind early era Cure in a ska style & rounding out the mix w/ Screeching Weasel vocal antics. “No More Wars” is a mock on President Bush’s part while “Radio Clone” readily admits the tomfoolery of the mainstream music industry & it couldn’t be more right. The 3rd track is a synth piece that totally recall’s the eighties whistling a note short of Bananaramma or the early amusement of Kraftwerk “Time to Reset” brings out more punky angst pop w/ a sense of isolation & a yearning to be reborn perhaps, while ending the disc comes another instrumental piece of smoothly gentle middle eastern guitars that hypnotizes until their forthcoming record of maybe more laden blue punk pop bliss. This might find some appeal w/ fan’s of Projekt´s more indie rock groups like Lowsunday or Audra to name a few.” www.Bonbomb.com]
