Artist: Girl in a Coma CD Title: Trio B.C. Label: Blackheard Records Reviewer: Jules Cohen Date: 5-31-10 It must have been at least 5 yrs ago when I received a demo in the mail called "Race car Driver" and fell in love immediately. Between the vocals and the sound, I knew that this band would be hot. Oh yah...the girls are on fire and seems to have endless energy with their latest release. "Baby Boy" has that same driving, rocking vocals and intensity that they bring to their music. "In the day" seems to be an homage to The Smiths and "Pleasure and Pain" is all pleasure with the girls fresh harmonies. Should we be surprised that the Girls got signed to Blackheart Records? "Joanie in the City is a total throw back and ms. Joan Jett lends a vocal which is uber fun. "Pink Lemonade" is a slow gem which reminds why I love Nina's sultry sound. https://www.myspace.com/girlsinacoma |
