Reviews CD Reviews Alternative, Indie Rock Duran Duran- Red Carpet Massacre

Artist: Duran Duran

Title: Red Carpet Massacre

Label: Epic Records

Two names both the same, bring instant gratification to me and have, since I first fell for this English band in the early ‘80s. Duran Duran. Just to say those two simple words in this day of amazing new bands and innovative music, Duran Duran continually prove to themselves, their fans, and the music biz, through their phenomenal artistry, and passion for what they choose to create.

Duran Duran will forever reign supreme in my heart as one of my most favorite bands. I’ve never met them, but feel I’m one of the luckiest gals on the planet to know of their music, and who’s so super happy to see them once again put out a smashing new album to go deliriously head over heels over. For anyone thinking that Duran Duran have come home…they haven’t; they never left. And yeah, they’re still stunningly gorgeous… must be their British blood.

Incredible songs off of “Red Carpet Massacre” for me are as follows… “Nite Runner”…No way can this song not give you off the scale sex o’ meter fantasies…radio stations are going to devour this one! “Falling Down”…I’ve listened to this song, and watched the music video so much, that I feel like I’m apart of it. Beautifully mesmerizing, with a hauntingly thought-provoking message. An instant classic. “Skin Divers”…Anyone have a couple of ice buckets on hand? This is such a dirty-sexy song, and I don’t want to wash it off of me. I’d love to learn to dance…really dance, just to hit the floors with this song surrounding me, and all eyes watching me…just for once. “Zoom In” is funkalicious fun! “She’s Too Much”, elegant, moving, and romantic. Sigh…Futuristic happiness. Signature Duran Duran. A biggie fave! “ Dirty Great Monster” is ooh, so good. It’s another fave. Has that “Union of the Snake” voice echoing throughout that is so undeniably Simon…and the rest of the song is massively brilliant, and the end is priceless…just perfect. It’s Duran Duran after all, why wouldn’t it be fabulous? (;
