After many months of hard work and organizing, Cold Waves Festival II is coming for two days, September 27th- 28th, 2013 at Chicago’s Metro. You better mark your calendars. What a great way to start autumn. It will be a beautiful time of the year in Chicago. If you thought last year’s line-up was amazing, wait till you see this year. So far, the following bands will be performing: PRONG, COCKS MEMBERS, DOUGLAS J MCCARTHY, DIE WARZAU, 16VOLT, SKREW, ACUCRACK, The Clay People and more. Tickets for this amazing festival go on sale this Friday 4/12/13 at noon. More information on this festival will be added to the festival website frequently, so be sure to check it out often.
A little history for you about this festival, in September 2012, a collection of musicians, peers, co-workers, friends and family gathered together for a memorial concert to celebrate the life of Jamie Duffy, a beloved Chicago musician and soundman who had passed away earlier that year. The Memorial show was referred to as Cold Waves, in no small part due to the high number of “Cold Wave” artists who participated in it. This year the festival has been expanded to two nights and will be held to a larger, more iconic venue, Chicago’s Metro. “Industrial” bands that span across multiple genres including Rock, Metal, EBM, Breakbeat and Punk will once again descend upon Chicago for two emotionally charged shows.
