GC: What is the name of your band and Who are the current members?

FULCRUM is Ajax Beatphreaker.

GC: How did you become connected to make music?

F: Out of boredom and dislike for mainstream radio.

GC: What are your musical influences?

F: Everything from ABBA to Zappa and everything in between but what has stuck with me the most is electronic and alternative forms of music.

GC: What is your live show like?

F: It is like an informal get together with fans or a small rave combined with multi-media.

5)Tell us about your own unique style of music?

F: My music is a blend of so many different electronic genres...sometimes within the same song!

6)What serparates your band from all the other bands out there?

F: See answer for Q#5 in addition to a knowledge of music and a willingness to help other artists on the scene

GC: How do you go about writing songs?

Most of the time they just happen. Sometimes I try to challenge myself to re-create or do something that I am hearing in my head.

GC: Pick one of your latest song and talk about everything from writing it, meanings, the challenges of recording it?

F: Most of my music is instrumental and sometimes comes from an internalization of life experiences. It is sometimes a challenge to convey your feelings and exactly what you were thinking when you were composing. Sometimes I compose solely for a theme or an event.

GC: What is your latest news with the band?

F: Within the next few months I expect to go into a recording studio and put out a proper set of materiel with a few extras and surprises! I hope to send it out in hopes of better representation and possibly a recording deal.

GC: Where do you hope to be in 5 years with your band?

F: Making music as a living!

GC: How are people currently reacting to your music?

F: Those who listen to electronic music are really liking it but there are those who are not exposed to much music outside of Top 40 who liken my music to commercials that they hear on TV.

GC: What would be the top 3 reasons for listening to your music? 1. Something different 2. Dancing 3. Driving

GC: What is your best experience as a band?

F: Connecting with the person or people who understand what I am doing.

GC: What is your worst experience as a band?

F: The people who are in control of major venues and radio who will not take a chance on an unsigned band in addition to the back-stabbing and b.s. of the "scene".

GC: What is most important to you in your band?

F: What is most important to me is never boring myself and consistently improving my skills as a musician and person.

GC: Do you have a personal favorite song?

: There are so many for different occasions and emotions that it would be too difficult to list them all.

GC: What was the hardest song to write and why?

F: "Overture" because I had forced myself to compose it using many different elements of instruments and technology and musical styles into a semi-coherent (laughs) piece.

GC: What do you think of the current gothic/ EBM/

F: Industrial/ noise/ synthpop etc scence today? I think that there are those who are doing brilliant work but are not connected well enough to make the breakthrough that they deserve. As with any scene there are good elements and bad elements. The music business and mediocrity has its hands in everything.

GC: What music do you currently listen to?

F: Anything but Top 40! I am consistently looking for artists from all genres who push the envelope or at least do what they do with passion and desire.

GC: How do you keep changing your music from album to album or plan to change it?

F: I plan to have something for everyone on my album s and hopefully an interactive format can be developed at some point in the future. I also don't want to reveal the surprises that are in store for the future of FULCRUM...

GC: What kind of recording environment do you have?

F: I have a small home project studio with a decent bit of kit.

GC: How long did you spend on your latest effort?

F: It is still a work in progress...

GC: What is the hardest thing about being in a band for this genre?

F: Not being a cover band! Also, not sticking to a particular style.
