Madame Webb – Thank you for doing this interview with us. I have been a fan of your e-zine for years.

Karpe - Hi Matt, thank you so much to take your time for give us this interview , I am very honored.

Q) How did you guys meet?

We met online and we talked a lot. Karpe was looking for someone to do vocal work in his songs and he asked me if I would be interested in joining Digital Dream. It was dream come true for me.

Q) What are each of your roles in the band and the overall production of the music?

We stay in different area so this complicated our music creation little bit. The magic of virtual help us a lot. We share our idea a lot via email and when I begin to compose music, send the evolution from time to time. Discuss a lot, if you check on our song I’m coming home, we discuss a lot about effect and synth. For now, music is composed by Karpe, lyrics are composed by Lisa and Karpe. You will taste in the future all our collaboration, this is just the beginning…….

Q) What spawned the birth of Digital Dream?

I’ve been doing electronic music for a long time, but I officially started this project in September 2004….

Q) Tell us about your latest release?

Our latest album is “Angel of Disorder”; it is a three song demo of our work. It was more for production purposes but fans loved it so we decided to sell it as a ‘release’ as well.

Q) What is the composition process when it comes to your music?

It is a long and careful process, each layer is meticulously put together with heart. We put a lot of ourselves into each song so we always want it to be perfect.

Q) What are some of your musical influences of the past? What are you currently listening to presently?

Madame Webb – I have so many influences. For vocal work I am inspired by Dead Can Dance and Lisa Dalbello as well as Rhea’s Obsession and Concrete Blonde. I know those don’t seem like great electronic influences but their voices are so elastic and can reach many ranges. To me they are great bands to learn from. The layering aspects in bands like Nine Inch Nails, Project Pitchfork and Covenant also influence me.

Karpe - Oh so many different influences too. In the past when I was younger I listened to music like the Doors, Pink Floyd, and Velvet Underground. I prefer the old and real rock then today’s modern rock. The same thing goes for punk music. For electronic I mostly introduce in this world with GOA. I discover EBM, industrial, synth pop falling completely into form with this kind of music. I like so many bands today, this is tough for me to name a direct influence. For sure I need to mention some of them VNV Nation, Covenant, Evil toys, in strict confident and much more.

Q) Take this opportunity to promote any up-coming events, releases, etc… .

Well this weekend November 18 and on the 20th, will be the first CD release party for “Angel of Disorder” and we hope it will continue on it’s way. For the next release we are currently working quietly on our full length album. We are taking our time on it even if it takes 2 or 3 years to finish it. We don't really care, we prefer to have 1 album we really love then 10 that are totally a bunch of crap. We are mentioning as well that we are looking for some artists or other bands to do remixes together or music collaboration on this album. We want to savor and each song a little bit differently.

Closing Statement (Matt): On behalf of Grave Concerns we want to thank you so very much for joining us today!

Closing Response

We hope to inspire people to dream and live out their wildest dreams. No goal is too far.
